Whilst the focal point for raised standards will be Maths & Computing – the improvement will spread across the curriculum and beyond.
Bellemoor will become a centre of excellence!

Additional staff resources (teaching staff)
- Director of Maths and ICT
- Assistant Director of Maths and ICT
- Maths and ICT specialists to facilitate extended learning, both after school and during holidays. (Calculation based on a day a week for each specialist subject over a 30 week period).
- Appoint a second in Maths
Staff development
- Courses on presentation skills and classroom management for Mathematics and ICT
- Director of Mathematics to attend an ICT course
- Specialist Maths and ICT Associate Professional – training provided for identified AP staff member
Equipment and materials in specialist subjects
- Develop Maths online website to facilitate OSHL
- Pay for internet facility for LAC and FSM students
Other
- Provide every student with individual help booklets on ‘how to succeed in maths and reach their target level’
- Purchase software for ICTAC (ICT across the curriculum)
Community Plan: Brief outline of intended use of Year 1 specialist school grant
- Additional staff resources (teaching staff) Community Teacher of Maths/ICT employed by Bellemoor to not only teach Maths/ICT at the school but to have in years 2, 3, and 4 timetabled lessons at our feeder schools.
- This would be a 0.6 appointment in year 1 with a view to increase provision in years 2, 3 and 4.
- The vision for years 2, 3 and 4 is that the community Maths/ICT teacher would have timetabled lessons in all our feeder schools and have the opportunity to further links with some of our business partners.
Staff development
- The Community Mathematics/ICT teacher to be provided with appropriate CPD to allow enrichment of delivery in all areas of the post.
Equipment and materials in specialist subjects
- To allow successful delivery of the post of Community Maths/ICT – Laptop, projector, travel expenses, consumables, software licences.
Outline of capital project
- Provide computer suite including projector, printer, benching, networking and power.
- Provide data projectors in every classroom
- Provide the majority of the school with interactive whiteboards
- Provide 3 televisions for the main hall and the dining room.
- Provide 2 televisions and computers for our partner primary schools.
- Provide a music ‘ICT Apple Suite’ to include 15 machines, software and server.
- Provide PDAs (portable learning aids).
- Provide dance/activity mats/Wii boxes
- Create an IT Practitioners workshop which would suit our more Kinaesthetic learners. Requirements being: Benching, storage racks, test equipment and parts.
- Create a new suite of Apple Macs – power, benching, network sockets/switch, decorating.
- Computer equipment and digital cameras for use in Sports Science and linking in with Mathematics
